Pomade Vs. Wax

When it comes to looking groomed, gorgeous and hot, women have some competition now. Yes! Today's metrosexual men want to look as appealing as any woman. And they are willing to put in all kinds of efforts to do the same! The result? Mushrooming of men's salons all over the place and the market flooded with all kinds of cosmetics, especially aimed at men!

When we talk of men's cosmetics, hair styling products are the most sought after by them. Hair styling products such as hair wax, hair gels, hair mousse, pomade, etc. are used by many men as they ensure that they do not ever have a bad hair day! These hair care products provide a good hold to the men's hairstyles, thus keeping them from getting messy throughout the course of the day. But which one of these hair styling products is the best? For all those men who are confused as to which one - hair wax or pomade to go in for, given below is a comparison between the two.

Pomade
If you have ever used a pomade, then you would know that the shine and luster that they lend to the hair is unparalleled. They make the hair a bit greasy and thus are the right choice for all men who have dry hair. If you look at the ingredients of a pomade, most of them are made up of mineral oil, wax and petroleum jelly. From these very ingredients, a pomade gets its hair moisturizing, nourishing and hair care qualities. You would be surprised to know that as pomades contain beeswax, many hair wax manufacturers in the market are actually selling hair wax under the name pomade! As it is there is not much difference between the two!

Hair Wax
For those of you looking for a hair styling product that can hold a hairstyle, wax is your answer. Hair wax can keep the hair in place for a longer time as it provides it with a better hold. That's why, wax certainly wins hands down, especially for people with oily hair as pomade can increase the greasiness in their hair even more! A drawback of hair wax is that it does not get easily distributed in the hair. In fact, you would need to first of all make it a little warm in between your palms before applying it to your hair for styling. Another problem with hair wax is that it may dry out the hair after a few hours of application, as unlike a pomade it does not contain oil.

Which is Better?
If you compare the two, the main difference between hair styling wax and hair pomade is that a hair wax is dry, at the same time provides a better hold, thus making it perfect for hairstyles like spikes in which the hair stands on the head. On the other hand, pomade may not provide a hold like hair wax, but in the long run, can keep the hair healthy looking due to the presence of oils in it. So, if you have a hairstyle in which the hair simply lies flat on the head, go in for a pomade.

One more area where a hair wax scores over a pomade is - wax can be easily removed with a single shampoo wash. On the other hand, a pomade is so greasy that it takes a number of washes or a de-greaser such as lemon juice and olive oil to take it out of the hair. Thus, from the convenience of use point of view, wax is better!

As you can see, both these hair styling products have their pluses and minuses. I hope the comparison above will help you make an informed decision with regards to your hair styling needs!

Best Heat Styling Product

Stop damaging your hair. No really, stop. You're only hurting yourself here. We know you're shivering when you jump out of the shower and that you just want to blast your hair with that warm blow dryer of yours, but if you care at all about having healthy hair, you will throw on a robe and do the right thing: properly prep your hair for heat styling. Any hair care expert will tell you that in order to prevent hair damage and breaking, it is crucial to apply some sort of heat protecting hair care product like a spray, serum, mousse or cream before subjecting your strands to high temperatures from irons and dryers

Blow dryers, flat irons and curling irons weaken and/or destroy vital proteins in your hair as well as deplete your hair's natural oils, which means frequent use of them requires extra maintenance. So to help you help yourself, we combed through the highest-rated styling products  and found which ones also boasted heat protecting properties in order to give you a cheat sheet to healthier hair.

The best part is that these products aren't just going to keep your hair from getting fried, but they are also going to add shine, de-frizz, help straighten your hair or enhance natural curls -- depending on the style you're going for. Once applied, you can heat style your hair with confidence.

Why it's great: "This product is a must-have for everyone! I use it before blow drying, curling or straightening my hair to help protect from heat damage. I have colored hair and style it frequently with heated tools and it still manages to look healthy when I use this spray. For the great price and healthy hair results, you can't beat it."You can find more Japanese hair products at www.vjpeace.com

How To Style Your Own Hair

To Achieve nice Look, Vjpeace Provides These Styling Tips:

Step 1. After you get out of the shower, vigorously dry your hair with a towel to almost lightly damp.

Step 2.Take a healthy amount of firm hold gel and apply all the way through roots to ends. This will give you the hold and texture you want with wavy hair like the model in image.

Step 3. Use your fingers as a brush and push back to create desired hair movement. You can also use a vent brush with wide bristles.

Step 4. Let the hair dry completely while you get ready for your day. Just before you leave the house use a dime size of hair wax for shine and malleability. This will allow you to brush your hair back into place with your hands all day long.

Hair Spray, Gel, Wax or Mousse: Which is Which?

I like to think of hair styling as a spark of individualism. The way you style your hair defines who you are, your personality. Just as great personalities differ individually, so do great hairstyles. Hairstyles are not always trend dependent but they do evolve as trends come and go. Now, you don’t have to let “what’s in” and “what’s not” tell you what style you should sport but it doesn’t hurt to be in the know. A problem a lot of us are having trouble with is choosing which style best suits us and which product is most efficient and effective. Our aim here is to determine exactly that so read on!
The market is booming with so much hair styling product that it tends to confuse the average chap who’s simply looking for something to fix his hair with. Let’s do a rundown of the 4 most practical hair products.

1.  Hair Mousse
There are many kinds of mousse in the market. It is best used enhance curls or waves. It adds volume to your hair and makes it easy to shape. It is not as “crunchy” as the average gel making it more comfortable. Mousse is not very budget friendly though, especially if you’re looking for something with good quality. It doesn’t provide as much grip though, so if you’re looking for something with a little more hold, this might not be the product for you.

2. Gel
If you’re in a rush and are looking for a quick fix for your hair, then Gel is your safest bet! It’s extremely efficient and easy to use. Just bring in to play enough gel and rub on to your hands, apply generously to your hair. Finally, mold into your desired form. Don’t put too much though for that will likely make you uncomfortable. Gel is a great and cheap way to groom your hair. It provides you with maximum hold and will stay on for the entire day. The best thing about gel is its ease for everyday use. The only drawback is probably the sticky feeling it leaves on your hands after styling.

3. Hair Wax
The Wax is a great alternative for gel. It too is an effective solution for those times you just seem to have no time! Wax, I would say, is a tad bit more complicated than gel though only by a small margin. I say this because there is much more variety to the wax products out in the market as opposed to gels. There are different types for different styles. It is also a good use-every-day product. Normally a guy would look for something to keep hold of his desired hairstyle throughout the day without the need for re-application or re-do. Wax does this job better than its gel counterpart in my honest opinion. However, wax is not as easy to remove as gel and using it every day is not really something I would recommend. If everyday application is necessary I would suggest washing your hair thoroughly before you heading off to dreamyland.

4. Hairspray
In every person’s life time there will come an occasion when your hair simply MUST NOT MOVE, on your wedding day perhaps? (oh-oh! Dead man walking!) I, personally, am not a huge fan of hairsprays all that much. I do, however, admittedly use it when nothing else will work! And it does work wonders! If restricting your hair movement is the goal then this is probably the only product up to the task. Check out the movie Hairspray if you want to get a better picture of what I mean. You’ll have to cover your nose while applying though and make sure to keep away from the eyes.
Hair styling products are there to compliment your style. Don’t rely completely on them to look good. Looking good on the outside is great, but looking good on the inside is best! But hey, who says you can’t have both?

What Is Finishing Spray?

There are two main types of finishing sprays in terms of beauty products. Both are liquid spray beauty products, but one is applied to the hair, and the other is applied to the face. Hair finishing sprays are the most common of these two types. Packaged in either a pump or aerosol bottle, they help hold the hair in place. Hair finishing sprays are fast drying and come in a variety of formulas from lightweight to super hold, though all versions typically have a lighter hold than gels, pomades and waxes.
There are numerous hair finishing sprays on the market. While their main purpose is to set a style and help keep it in place, finishing sprays often have added ingredients that provide other benefits to the hair. Most sprays are tailored to certain hair types or conditions. They may be used to help create shine and gloss for dull hair. Some finishing sprays do double duty by both setting the hair and adding volume and lift to the roots to combat flat-looking hair. For those with unruly or curly hair, they can also be used to decrease the amount of flyaway hairs and control frizz.
Finishing sprays generally have a stronger holding than traditional hairsprays. This extra strength means that the spray can often leave the hair feeling sticky or crunchy. Running a brush through the hair after the spray has dried can help alleviate this.

My recommendation is SPICE NEO Sprays. If you have curly hair, this is a must item!
Spice Neo Nuance Keep. This wax-in spray creates and keeps loose & airy tips! It allows you to keep soft curl by not being crispy, and gives hair body with subtle wax effect. White peach Fragrance. 7 types of fruits essences give amazing moisturizing.  You can make beautiful spice hair style with this hair care products.

Hair Care Products and Tools Every Woman Needs

Are you overwhelmed by all hair mousses, gels, irons and other hair care products vying for your attention? What you really need boils down to 10 basic tools. Here are the hair care products and tools every woman should have on hand.

A good brush.
The higher quality your hairbrush, the healthier your hair. We've found the best brushes have rubber bases with boar's head bristles. These allow bristles to flex, cutting down on the damage to your hair.

The right shampoo for your hair type.
Shampoos work by cleansing hair of dirt and oil. Picking the correct shampoo is all about the ingredients. Extra tip: More shampoo is not better. All you need is a half-dollar-sized dollop, perhaps a bit more if you have long hair. And although it says on the back of every shampoo bottle, "rinse & repeat," you don't need to if you did a good job the first time around.I personally recommend to anyone, Japanese hair products are the best!

Conditioner.
Unless you have baby fine hair that goes limp at the sight of creamy conditioners, you need to a conditioner. Hair pros will tell you conditioner can help repair heat- & chemical-damaged hair. The truth is conditioners protect your hair from these things (and harsh brushings). More than conditioning, we like how conditioners have moisturizing agents that coat hair leaving it tangle-free. Want to spend less time brushing out long wet hair? Condition the ends. Your comb will zip right through.

Marbling Treatments from Arimino

How to Manage Coarse Hair

So, you ended up with a big, thick, head of coarse and unruly hair. What's a dude to do?
First, it's important to realize that coarse hair is often confused with damaged hair. Often, they're not the same. Coarse hair feels rough, it's dull, and it can grow in different directions. Coarse hair can also tend to be very dry. The upside is that coarse hair is, quite often, very healthy and strong. The downside is that this strong and healthy head of hair can be quite the challenging opponent when trying to tame the beast. Here are a few options:

DRY CAREFULLY
One of the most common ways guys damage their hair is by rubbing their head with a towel. When the hair is wet it becomes more susceptible to damage. The hairs get caught in the fibers of the towel and get stretched out damaged. When drying your hair, pat the hair with a towel instead of rubbing your head. This isn't a quick fix as they hair that is already damaged will need to grow out and be cut off for it to go away. Damaged hair really can't be "fixed" as some products claim.

AVOID THINNING
Many barbers and stylists will try to use thinning shears to help reduce the bulk of thick, coarse hair. Mistake. Thinning or texturizing coarse hair can make it look even more coarse. Thinning hair can create lots of shorter pieces which can actually hold up the longer hair and give a bushier look. You also don't need to add texture to coarse hair -- it already has a lot of texture.

USE A MOISTURIZING SHAMPOO AND CONDITIONER
Use of a good moisturizing shampoo and conditioner on a daily basis can help soften coarse hair and add moisture if your hair is dry. Two products I love for this are Caretrico Shampoo Type-H
and Caretrico Treatment Type H. They're quite effective at nourishing dry, coarse hair. Once per week, you can also try a Marbling hair treatment. ( Type H)

Beauty Tips for Healthy Hair

Hair is the ultimate accessory and Shape shares a dozen beauty tips to keep yours in healthy beautiful condition.

your hair can add to (or detract from) your overall look instantly. Keeping it in healthy condition is the most important thing you can do to help it look and feel fabulous.
And, while it seems easy, this isn't as simple as minimizing chemical treatments or slathering on a weekly hair marbling treatment. While these can make your strands softer and less split-end-prone, what really matters is the daily handling; this is what creates the most stress -- and potential damage -- to your tresses.
To help your locks look their best, we asked top experts from around the country for their advice on how to baby your mane every single day. So whether your concern is dullness, damage, frizz or fragility, we have the answers to ease even the toughest hair-care woes. Read on for tips to achieve run-your-fingers-through-it hair.

Deep condition once every two weeks. "These treatments penetrate the hair shaft and strengthen strands," says expert, who adds that using heat (from a blow-dryer) can intensify deep conditioning, as the heat causes the cuticle to open and the ingredients to penetrate. For nourishing results, try Caretrico products.

How to Use Hair Styling Products

Learn how to use hair styling products like a professional and get the most out of their potential. Learn some tricks on how to use certain products for different hairstyles, for both men and women

There are loads of different hair styling products on the market: pastes, pomades, frizz-fighters and body-builders - just to name a few.
When you've got a bathroom full of products, are you really making the most out of them and know what product does what?

Here are some tips to ensure you use all your lotions and potions to reach their full potential!

Texturizer

Best for wavy and curly hairstyle.
Texturizing products are great for creating or manipulating waves and curls for movement, but too much product applied causes greasiness.
Dispense onto your hands, then use your fingers to apply evenly through the hair.

Styling Mousse

To make the most out of mousse, apply a gold ball-sized amount onto damp hair.
Apply from the mid-lengths to the ends first, then work the rest through the roots using a wide tooth comb for even distribution.
Blow-dry as usual.

Curl Enhancers/Definers

Best for naturally curly hairstyles or hair that has a kink to it. For soft defined curls, a curl cream is ideal as it's not to heavy and creates touchable texture.
Get the most out of it by applying to towel-dried hair and blow-dry with a diffuser.

If your hair is lacking moisture, it's coarse and dry, try a curl enhancer - use sparingly though as too much product can turn curl definition into a wet-hair look.

Styling hair wax

Best for styling short hairstyle. and mid-lengths. When using wax, you can be much more free with drying - blast form all angles with the hair dryer to create movement. Rub wax between your fingers to melt it and spread evenly through the lengths.
Don't put it on the roots, as this will flatten your hairstyle. Recommended hair product is Arimino Spice Sisters Freeze Wax

Styling Gel

Gel is perfect for styles that require intense sculpting with maximum shine. New formulations are great for maintaining lasting hold without looking flaking and are easy to wash out.
Use sparingly and build up to create textured looks.

Pomade

The pomade, similar to wax, adds shine and ability to sculpt short to medium hair style
Warm a thumbnail amount of pomade in the palm of your hands until it softens, breaking down the fibers to help work it through evenly.
Reapply if more is needed, still using thumbnail amounts.

Heat Protection Sprays

Use heat protection spray on wet hair (all hair-lengths) to shield hair against heat from the hairdryer, as well as on dry hair before using flat irons and curling irons.
Also try using it like a serum to smooth fly-aways the next day.

Hairspray

To maximize volume, apply hairspray to dry hair while heating with the hairdryer.
This combined effect will dry the hairspray on your hairstyle instantly while it is still full of body from being blow-dried.

Serum

Best for finishing flat-ironed hairstyles and to control fly-aways. Serum can be used to control frizz or enhance shine - don't use too much as it can look greasy and limp.
For more effective results, combine with other products from the same range as they are designed to work together.

Shine Spray

Shine sprays work by delivering reflective particles to your hair to pick out natural gloss. Hold the can 16" away from your head and mist lightly.
Don't get carried away thought, as some hair styling products, this also can contain an oily delivery fluid which can make hair greasy and weight it down.

How to Use Hair Wax

When you’re browsing through the pages of fashion magazines and wondering how the models get those fantastic hairstyles, hair wax might be the answer. The forerunner of today’s formulations started centuries ago as Egyptians melted beeswax and coated their hair for protection from dust and insects. Today's products offer a variety of styling options. Read on to learn how to use hair wax.

Instructions

    • 1
Choose hair wax by the control number on the label. Softer waxes with less control have a lower number and waxes with the most holding power have a higher number. The hair care industry has adopted a rating system with number one having the least styling control and number 10, the greatest.
    • 2
Spike short hair straight up by apply a dollop of pliable wax to the palm of your hand then rubbing your palms together briskly until the friction warms the wax to a soft cream. Rub your fingers through damp just-washed hair and form into spikes, allowing hair to dry naturally.
    • 3
Enhance hard-to-hold curls by adding a smidgen of hair wax to the ends of each strand before styling with hot rollers. When the curls are dry, they will retain their shape and bounce longer.
    • 4
Freshen up a wilting spiral perm by washing and towel drying your hair before rubbing a small amount of Arimino hair wax between your palms and using your hands to scrunch your perm into shape. Concentrate on the tips of the hair when styling and avoid your scalp and roots.
    • 5
Control African-American hair by applying a liberal amount of liquid hair wax after shampooing and braiding narrow rows of hair into scalp braids. Also known as cornrows, liquid hair wax controls the frizzies and allows coarse curly hair to be styled with ease.
    • 6
Separate small strands of hair with hair wax for a flirty, carefree look. After your hair is dry, rub a small amount between your palms until creamy and apply with your fingertips to each strand, separating and chunking your hair.

Arimino, Spice hair Wax creates flexible texture and ends with movement. Creates natural texture for layered and short hair. Has a long-lasting hold. With Arimino Spice Wax, your hair can move freely with control.

Arimino Spice Water

Wonderful product from Japan! Arimino Spice Water Shining Straight is a light cream that can be used on dry, damaged hair to smooth frizziness and soften. Many people use it in conjunction with straightening methods (flat iron, blow dryer, etc) as its name implies, but I just leave my hair in its natural wavy/curly texture.
Shining Straight is not sticky or heavy like some silicone defrizzers are. It can be applied on wet or dry hair and doesn't build up or weigh down. Spice hair style product has a light scent that doesn't provoke my allergies.

Very few salons in the US carry it, but you can find it online. I plan to repurchase at http://www.vjpeace.com/

Tips & Tricks For Growing Long, Strong & Healthy Hair

Too many times when people think about growing long and strong hair they think of it as too hard to maintain and end up just whacking it off. Well, the truth is it's not really hard to maintain at all. And if you read my articles you'll know that my own hair measure around 4 1/2 feet in length and I know what I'm talking about.
Of course it's definitely not maintenance free but if you use the right tips, you can have long, strong and healthy locks before you know it! (And with minimal effort).
This is an update to the other articles that I have written with a little more information since there seemed to be some who wanted some further tips...
How To Grow Long Luscious Hair is the first article that you should read which covers the basis for growing long hair. It covers supplement facts, and basic long hair care tips.
My sister, who also has extremely long hair, has written an article with pictures telling of her long hair journey.

A Few More Tips...
  • Never use elastic bands to secure hair unless they have fabric covering them.
  • Stay away from heat styling products and avoid washing hair in too hot of water. (Lukewarm with a cool rinse is best).
  • Avoid chemical products and permanents. Perms may look nice but always have negative effects on the health of our hair. ( Not only is there "permanent" waves, there may permanent damage). For healthier and effective ways to wave hair without the harmful side effects, try to use Arimino Peace hair products.
  •  Use hair mask (using one of the products below) at least once a week.

Caretrico Hairmask Type-EX

This mask has a very high concentration of moisture. It contains Phytosterol Derivative, an oil matter that tends to attract water, which in turn, lowers the porosity of the hair by preventing moisture evaporation.
