1. MOUSSE
Mousse can be intimidating because it’s a whole lot of foam when you
first get it going, but if you know what mousse can be good for, it’s
surprisingly versatile. You can maintain most hairstyles on a daily
basis without too much buildup, and best of all, mid-day styling touches
ups are incredibly easy.
How to Use It
1. Shake the mousse bottle and hold it vertically to dispense product in
your palm. Aim for a small amount, because a little mousse will go far.
If it looks like an egg, you’re set. Anything else and you’ll be
shocked at how greasy and flat things can get.
2. Stroke the mousse through your hair, and “swipe” your hands through to make sure you’ve applied it evenly.
3. If you love to blow dry your hair, then mousse is key. You can get
great hold if you use mousse and then dry it, and you can still use it
regularly without weighing your hair down too much.
What Styles Does It Suit? Mousse is perfect if you want to
boost thinning hair and get natural volume and body. Lucky for you, you
can find a mousse that suits your hair type– it’s not just for the
seriously curly anymore! Thin, dry, thick, coarse. . . you name it, a
formula is available to boost your style.
Why You’ll Love It: You can restyle moussed hair throughout
the day without making your hair overly sticky. All you need to do is
add a spritz of water and you’re set. Style away!
Tips
• Volume is best achieved by adding your mousse primarily to the roots.
You’ll get extra “lift” if you work in the product with your head tilted
over. Since mousse coats each strand lightly, it will come up off the
scalp and make your hair look thinner.
• For maximum effect, take a look at what’s inside. Some products are
designed for use with heat, while others are designed to be used on
thinner or fine hair.
• Less is more! If you forget almost all your mousse use rules, this
one is the most important to retain. (Unless you like sticky, greasy, or
stiff hair, that is.) Egg or golf-ball size, please!
• Invest a little in your mousse. You’ll be able to tell the difference if you use it daily.

A Common Winter Hair Problems Solved
Winter's harsh conditions can really wreak havoc on our hair-from frizz
to dry scalp to limp, windblown strands. Here are some common hair
problems solved, so you can sport healthy, luscious-looking locks even
during the most brutal of seasons!
Cold-Induced Frizz
Winter's dry, cold air and high amounts of static electricity causes hair to spread, twist, fly away, and (gasp!) frizz. You can tame tresses by investing in a professional shampoo and conditioner as well as a professional hair products to seal in moisture. Also, refrain from over-styling your hair with blow-dryers, curling irons, or flat irons, as too much artificial heat damages the cuticle and leads to more frizz.

3 Ways to Wake Up to Gorgeous Hair
Leaving wet hair loose overnight means you might find a surprise (e.g.,
cowlicks that can't be controlled, layers that won't lie flat) in the
morning. Blot hair with a towel to absorb as much water as possible, then try one of these quick styles to eliminate bedhead...
1. Spritz all over with a volumizing spray, which swells the hair shaft as it dries and makes hair look thicker.
2. Pull it all into a high pony at your crown and twist the tail-winding it onto itself to create a loose bun. Why loose? Because a too-tight chignon not only prevents hair from drying all the way through but also could lead to breakage (especially if your hair is relaxed).
3. With a few long bobbies, pin the bun in place.
4. In the morning, let your hair down and finger comb (using a brush creates frizz).
1. Apply a mousse from roots to ends to help hair hold its shape as it dries.
2. From hairline to nape, divide your hair down the middle with a comb, separating it into two equal sections.
3. Braid each side from the middle down. Starting any higher will create crimps near your roots.
4. Secure the end of each braid with a metal-free elastic.
5. Pull out the elastics or pins in the morning and unwind your hair. For a beachy effect.
Wake Up to Less Frizz
Giving your hair a break from heat can actually be beneficial-especially for those with natural waves. "The less you do to curls the better
1. Apply a light leave-in conditioner (try Caretrico Grace Blue After Treatment Enrich Gloss
) and use a wide-tooth comb to distribute it to your ends. A brush or a fine-tooth comb can destroy your curl pattern and create kinks.
2. Part your hair down the middle. Divide each side into three smaller sections.
3. Starting at the bottom of one of the smaller sections, create a pin curl by wrapping the ends up and over two fingers as you would a foam roller and continue winding up toward your roots. (This prevents curls from tangling or catching on your pillow at night.)
4. Slip your fingers out and secure the pin curl to your scalp using a clip. Then repeat steps three and four on the other five sections.
5. Remove the clips in the a.m. and lightly spritz your hair with water to soften curls and eliminate static.
Wake Up to More Volume
Fine hair has a tendency to fall flat. These four fast steps will add body overnight:1.

What Is Hair Serum?
Hair serum is a kind of hair product that is generally used on curly or frizzy hair
to give it a smoother look. It is also used to make thick hair more
manageable. Hair serum is especially useful for people who have damaged
or dry hair, because it can help to smooth the dry or damaged hair
follicles. By smoothing the follicles, hair is easier to style and take
care of throughout the day. There are a number of companies that sell hair care products that include a serum in their lines.
One of the reasons that people with curly hair benefit from using hair serum is that, when curls are treated with the serum, they are more likely to maintain their shape. Furthermore, curly hair is prone to frizziness, especially in humid weather. Hair serum reduces frizziness in all types of hair, including curly hair. In general, hair serum should be applied to curly hair after the hair has been washed and conditioned. Some hair serum is intended for application to hair that is soaking wet. Other brands indicate that the serum should be applied after the hair has been dried with a towel
Personally, I love SPICE NEO Serum Milk Gloss.

What Is the Difference Between Hair Wax & Hair Paste? Read more: http://www.livestrong.com/article/299817-what-is-the-difference-between-hair-wax-hair-paste
As if hairspray, mousse and gel
are not enough products to make you pull your hair out in confusion, you
can add hair wax and hair paste to the mix. Both hair wax and paste add
texture and hold to your hair, leaving you with hair that stays in
place without the harsh look of a welded helmet. While hair wax and
paste share some similarities, they also have notable differences.
Hold
Hair
wax and hair paste generally differ in the type of hold they have on
your hair. Both will keep a style in place, but hair wax usually keeps a
single style in place all day long. Hair paste often offers more
versatility, letting you paste up one style in the morning and rework
your hair into another style by mid-afternoon or whenever you have the
urge without adding more paste. Both also offer varying degrees of
holding power, from firm to barely there.
Waxes are available as a cream, solid,
gel or spray. Creams and solids usually come in squat containers, gels
in a tube or squeeze bottle and the sprays in aerosol or non-aerosol
mists. Pastes come in creams, most often in stout containers, with
different goals in mind. Some formulas are meant for molding, some
texturize and others control. Waxes and pastes work for both men and
women, with hair texture and thickness, rather than gender, more of a
gauge on what works best.
Effects
Slicked-back
looks, or those with defined pieces of hair separated from the rest,
work with wax cream. Wax sprays keep loose strands softly in place.
Messy, bed-head looks are yours with solid wax, gel wax and texturizing
pastes. Mold hair into a style with paste designed to mold or control,
with the latter also adding texture the former best for sculpted styles.
Hair Types
All
waxes and pastes work well on thick and medium-textured hair but some
are too heavy for fine tresses. Cream wax, spray wax and texturizing
pastes will weigh down fine hair and are best for coarser hair. Gel wax
works best on hair that is a bit thinner or layered. Any hair type is
usually game for solid wax and pastes meant to mold and control.
Use
A
little goes a long way when it comes to both hair wax and paste. Start
with a dab and add more as needed. Too much weighs hair down. Both also
work on hair that is still slightly wet or hair that is already dry.
Some of the products, like the pastes and solid wax, work best if you
first warm them up a bit by rubbing them between your palms.
Considerations
With
repeated use, both products tend to leave residue and buildup on hair,
Style Hair Magazine warns. Keep buildup with a clarifying
shampoo, like Japanese shampoo which clarifies and dissolves such buildup. Hair with buildup
is often drab, dull, limp and does not respond well to any styling
products. Regular use of texturizing hair paste also has a beneficial
result, as it eventually softens coarse, unruly hair.

If your hair is...wavy
1. In the shower: If your hair is thick, use the shampoo and conditioner recommended for curly hair. If it's fine, volumizing formulas—Like Arimino Caretrico Shampoo Type S and Arimino Caretrico Treatment Type S (Conditioner). These are hair salon products.
2. When hair is still damp: Wavy hair tends to be dry, so the outer layers can look fuzzy; a styling cream like SPICE NEO Natural Cream controls flyaways.
3. Just before you leave the house: To block humidity (a preemptive strike against frizz), apply a SPICE NEO Serum Nuance. This Milk contains a Fresh Keratin, which provides elasticity repair in the hair. Best used on all lengths of hair, Nuance Serum helps to restore wave and curl in dry damaged hair. This is the best serum for curly hair.

Hair Wax – How to Apply It
Are you one of the fortunate few whose hair stays exactly as you want
it to? Do you never have a hair out of place? If so, you have no need
for hair wax. On the other hand, if you are like the vast majority of
men around the world, you aren’t so lucky. Hair wax may be just the
thing to tame that flyaway cowlick, or hold that wave in place. You can
use it to move your hair forward,
backward, to the side, or to spike it. If applied correctly, you can
even create the appearance of a fuller head of hair.
The great thing about hair wax is that you have almost limitless styling uses. Although most waxes don’t leave you hair stiff like gel does, there are some that leave your hair stiffer than others. Hair wax also adds a different luster from most any other kind of hair product on the market.
Hair wax is a great way to style your hair without making it overly stiff the way most gels do. Why don’t you want your spiked hair too stiff? There is nothing worse than spending the evening getting your date into a romantic mood, then poking her in the eye with the points of the gel-enhanced mini samurai swords atop your head when you try to cuddle.
Although hair wax can add a lusty sheen, most guys don’t want the Severus Snape slicked-back look. If you glob excessive hair wax on, that is exactly what you will get. Hair wax usually looks best when you use barely enough to keep your hair positioned just the way you want it. Put a little wax on the tips of your fingers, or on an applicator stick, and run it through your hair to shape bangs, spikes, waves and curls. In the case of hair wax, less is usually more. Unless you are planning to head outdoors during a category 5 hurricane, you only need a dab here and there, or lightly and evenly spread throughout your hair.
When applying hair wax, run the wax through your hair uniformly so you don’t end up with clumps. Blobs of wax positioned haphazardly about the head are neither attractive nor enticing. If anything, either your date will be repulsed by what she sees, or laugh with her girlfriends about it the next day. One thing she will be sure not to do is to run her fingers through your hair—that is, of course, unless she has a wet wipe handy.
There are different types of hair wax. Some are dry for a matte-type look. You can find wax creams, volumizing gel-waxes, waxes for fine hair, waxes for thick hair, waxes for stiff hair, and more. There are even spray waxes available. If you are looking for the best way to keep your hair looking good, check out the various hair wax options that are available, and choose the one just right for you and your styling needs.

Hair Serums
Smooth your way to frizz-free, glossy hair with serums
Not a conditioner, not a spray, hair serum has always been a bit of a mystery. You’d be forgiven for not knowing exactly how to use it. But this styling aid is a must for sleek tresses. Read on to learn how to find the best one for you. What exactly are serums?
Typically, serums are gels or liquids that lightly coat the hair follicle to add moisture and shine. These multi-use styling aids fight frizz, protect hair from heat and UV damage, and give strands a glossy finish. We’re addicted to the way serums make our hair manageable and polished, even on days when we don’t blow dry.How do you pick the right one?
Look for serums that are formulated for your hair. If you have oily or fine hair, steer clear of anything labeled ‘extra-moisturizing,’ as these can weigh strands down. For color treated hair, opt for a serum with UV-blocking ingredients . SPICE NEO's Hair Serum Milk Gloss is our favorite all-around winner, with a silky texture that never feels greasy. It's hair salon products. How should you use it?
While serums are often applied to damp hair before styling to protect strands from the heat, they work just as well on dry hair. Put a few drops in the palm of your hand (a little bit goes a long way!) and rub your hands together before smoothing through your hair. Start near your ends, which are more likely to be dry, and work your way up to mid-strand. Next, use your fingertips to fix stubborn flyaways near your roots.Wednesday, November 7, 2012

How to prevent static hair in cold weather
Static hair can be a big problem during the winter when the cold, dry air dehydrates hair. Here are some ways to calm those electric locks.
Instructions
1- Deep-condition your hair regularly. Properly moisturized hair is less likely to be
affected by static.
2- Use a "leave-in" conditioner on your hair after you wash it, or apply
conditioning hair gel. These products help to weigh the hair down
3- Use hair spray your hairbrush or comb with an anti-static spray before you run it through your hair.
4-Keep a fabric softener sheet handy and run it over your hair when it
starts to get out of control. Carry it in your purse so you can use it
several times during the day if necessary.
5- Avoid hair products that include ingredients that will dry out your hair, such as alcohol or harsh chemicals such as sodium lauryl sulfates.
